From taking a close look at technological changes in our kitchens to the wider issues facing the homewares and small electricals retail market, this year’s Exclusively shows seminar programme will share key trend information and thought-provoking data for visitors.
Taking place in the new ‘Tomorrow’s Kitchen’ feature on the second day of the event, visitors will be able to listen to speakers from trend forecasters Scarlet Opus, market research consultancy Insight Retail and Stylus, a global innovation and research firm.
Phil Pond, trend translator at Scarlet Opus, and his team are once again working with Exclusively to identify three key trends for housewares and SDA suppliers and retailers to focus on for the coming seasons. In addition, Victoria Redshaw, their lead futurist, will share some of the work the consultancy undertakes for one of the UK's leading housebuilders, looking at how current technological advances will affect future house design, the way people use their homes and the spaces in them – particularly the kitchen.
Steve Collinge, managing director of market research consultancy Insight Retail, will take a wider look at the retail market. His presentation, entitled 'How the fourth industrial revolution will transform our industry', identifies the key strands affecting the way customers will be shopping in five-year’s time, and how this will affect the housewares and SDA markets for both retailers and suppliers.
'Kitchen of the Future', presented by Mandy Saven of Stylus, will explore how kitchens have become fluid, multitasking spaces that bend and flex to better suit splintered schedules, shifts in family dynamics and compressed urban living. Moreover, Mandy will show brands that understand these spaces, and what they represent, will lead the race to new product development.
All the seminars will run on Wednesday, 14 June. A detailed timetable will be published shortly.
